On What I Usually Do

On What I Usually Do!

Today is just another day.One of those days, which makes me think "whoaa I have completed 5 MONTHS in blogging".KIT KAT break banta hai yaaro..

So instead of writing  my usual pending post on Leh,I thought I might pen down what I do everyday and I call forward each and everyone to comment on "what they do everyday" sparing the minute details,of course.

I wake up early, not that I wake up because I wake up,I love to sleep till 11..as everyone else, but then you have got a job to do.I rather wake up before my sweet bai literally bangs the door and rings the bell to infinite degrees.I started going for a walk when "I realised I have gained too much weight to blogging and facebook".And the traditional methods sound too irritating slow and rather frustrating.

I hate the taste of green tea,I do not love yoga as such,I rather not jog in the morning though sometimes I do,and cauz I am highly allergic to Bangalore, and I guess a walk might increase my stamina.Interestingly, the stamina increases two fold when I leave Bangalore, magic! But then a walk is sometimes a pleasant experience when you can play around with cute little sweet street dogs or walk in the shades of jakaranda..How much I love those purple flowers in Bangalore.

And then..I flip pages of my all time favourite magazine,FEMINA and I read about some great places in LONELY PLANET.I completely love the two fantabulous books,my other favourites are OUTLOOK TRAVELLER and COSMOPOLITAN.These books just make my day a little brighter with amazing pictures of waif thin models, amazing clothes, beautiful writeups, guidance on what to and what not to,and virtually travel everywhere through Lonely Planet.I wish to replace one of those models, and the travellers with me someday..I know we all wish the same. How much we hate the normal mundane boring life, with 9*5 job, though a great package makes you shop plenty, and thats why most of us never listen to our inner call "THE ONE WHICH SAYS DO WHAT YOUR HEART IS AT!"

AN INTERVIEW WITH TANYA CHAITANYA,FEMINA

Yes,I have started living,I have had my corporate juggles of 4.5 years, and I one day I decided to end it all. Thanks to some of my friends who started telling me "anki you travel so much,be a backpacker".Thanks to those suggestions, and NO THANKS to those who call me crazy to have left it,I love every day of my life now, though I have so so much to achieve. My mind is full of plans, everyday and sometimes its scary "I am in my 20's" will I be?But neverthless, trying doesnt kill anyone.

I share a love-hate relationship with cooking, believe me I never used to love cooking.I am one of those girls who had never gone to kitchen till the age of 23.It started with full on romance with "how to learn dishes" in fact I Was so much into it at one time, that any book on dishes I would grab..Slowly it had gone all fuss!!I hope to have some angel fairy who cooks for me everyday, someday. But till then sometimes I cook, sometimes i I dont.I love dancing on filmy songs everyday.

I am a no make up gal, plain jane.I do not hate it,but I simply do not have the patience to stare at myself in the mirror for long. And I SIMPLY AM FANATIC ABOUT TRAVELLING...I love going to places,be it anywhere, but the idea is to move.Looking forward to BACKPACK soon.Join my gang.

The morning started with the above "as usual" activities and fantasies.Hope you all like it :)

Pangong Lake Leh:Winters Diary Part1

All About Ladakh

Mere pao paae hai ek
  Aisi jami per
Jaha bhikhri hai dhoop
Birf ki nami Per
In vadiyo k angan mein
Safed phool khil aye hai
Shayad chalte chalte
Hum Leh chale Ae hain

Satrangi sapno ko muthi me sajoe rakha
Muthi kholi to rango ko swayam badalte dekha
Safed aur sunder, naye kapas ki chadar, dharti ko odhte dekha

SNOW SNOW EVERYWHERE: LEH IN WINTERS

I had never seen so much snow my entire life before Leh happend, never in India did I know that a place could be as picture perfect as Leh.Surprisingly,I like winters more than summers in Leh,when the shops are closed, when there are few furry dogs on the road, when there are few vehicles, mostly convoys and when the hot cuppa maggi tastes like delicacy. When the locals dress up in their colorful traditional best wrapped up in layers of jackets and sweaters, and when the formation of the fog as you exhale, reminds you of Leh being one of the coldest terrain in every breath you take.

VIDEO ON PANGONG LAKE IN WINTERS

PANGONG LAKE PERMITS,ETC ETC

We started off early in the morning from leh-pangong.It takes 5-6 hours to reach the lake.Prior permit is required to visit the lake, though it can be obtained in a day or you can ask your travel agent to arrange it for you.

- An Inner Line Permit is required to visit the lake as it lies on the Sino-Indian Line of Actual Control. and it can be procured at the DC’s office in Leh.

   Dy Commissioner, Leh : 01982-252010, Kargil : 01985-232715.

- While Indian nationals can obtain individual permits, others must have group permits (with a minimum of three persons) accompanied by an accredited guide; the tourist office in Leh issues the permits for a small fee. For security reasons, India does not permit boating.

THE JOURNEY STARTED @ ENROUTE PANGONG LAKE

One of the roads we travelled enroute!

The journey started with the whole terrain engulfed in snow. The best thing about Leh is the broad well maintained roads to everywhere, even though the drive to pangong in winters is not recommended for the weak hearted.I say so on my own experience,as there are times when we had the whole road in front of us blocked with snow, and we had to wait for the snow to melt.Sometimes,it was, like the whole road had gone missing, and we were driving to the unknown.

Aha!

Sometimes we had to get our vehicles chained, but best part is that we could still complete the journey in a day and I absolutely loved it.If you are looking for some adventure, winters can be the best bet, and no wonder you'll feel the winner in you jump and say "Yes I did it"

THE THIN AIR AND THE FROZEN LOO @ ENROUTE PANGONG LAKE WINTERS

Enroute Pangong Lake Winters

The super thin air,in winters, makes you feel how important is it to just feel ok even though you know it,that it is not so ok.Your lips could turn to a soil of broken lands, your nose can freeze. But then you have to move on.

THE BEST ADVICE TO PEOPLE HEADING ONTO LEH IN WINTERS IS: USE PONDS COLD CREAM(It works on dry skin in winters, and I have used it on all my trips to leh ;) )

Have you been to a frozen loo?The journey to pangong ,started with breathtaking views of the valley alongside, and to my surprise the journey came to a sudden halt thanks to nature's call.Sometimes you cant just help.I came out of the car, snow snow everywhere,at a distance I could spot a toilet made of woods, and partially covered with snow. The thin air made me feel a little weird and dizzy,as the wonder loo was at the height of 16000 feet and I had to walk to a certain distance to avail such a remote loo.And then to my surprise I was at the frozen loo,but then I had no choice. This is one experience I cannot and will not ever be never to forget. So guys if you go to pangong lake in winters,do stop by at any random wooden loos(if you are lucky to spot it),and just go inside and see how the frozen washroom looks like. You would be either surprised or shocked.Whatever it may be,it would be rare.

THE MIGHTY CHANGLA @ ENROUTE PANGONG LAKE WINTERS

Ladakh regions,district,acclimatization

All About Ladakh

LADAKH DISTRICTS

Ladakh can be divided into two districts: district of Leh and the district of Kargil.Leh is predominantly Buddhist major while kargil is predominantly Islamic. The transition is obvious while coming from Srinagar to Leh,though both the districts have plenty to offer. While the budha statue of Mulbekh is towards the kargil side of leh,the victory memorial of kargil is one of the best war memos in India. While a stay at kargil town is a must as one get to see the nitty gritty of the remains of the war that is still present at the site.Like for example few of the roads are covered on one side,to avoid tracking the road movement in some sectors.Though the town Kargil is very small.

LADAKH REGIONS

Ladakh can be divided into 4 regions: Nubra,Zanskar,Sham and Chungthung. The lake tso morori falls in chung thung region of Ladakh. An amazing map from http://www.kashmir-ladakh-tourism.com

ACCLIMATIZATION IN LADAKH

Can be a serious affair,so take a day rest(for winters) or half a day(for summers) and then move on.

THE PANGONG LAKE,LADAKH

To most of us,pangong lake is synonymous with leh.A trip to leh is incomplete without the trip to pangong lake. And "thanks to 3 idiots" to make it so so popular,if there were 100 visitors a year to leh before, now it would be 5000.And the numbers are increasing twofold.

What is and would be a matter of concern is whether ladakh remains the same with so many tourists flowing in.Camps are organised every year by the local people to clean up the leh town.Majority of them survive on tourism.

A sparkling sunrise and a nice sunset is what you should not miss at pangong lake.A campsite is the most recommended, now you would ask what can anyone possibly do at a lake the whole day.The change of colours with the reflection of the black mountains at one side, and the bare mountains on another is something one cannot miss.Locals say that those black mountains are laced with bombs, and never never has anyone gone on those.Well, may be.

Have you ever been to the  frozen pangong in winters, watch the stunning video on the link below:

Life as we now know it

Vintage dress: Brand "With"

Do you have a good job or are you a jealous gf?Are you introvert or are you extrovert? Are you a shopping addict...are you..Am I?Flipping though pages of my favourite fashion magazine,I so so much love those phys co metric questions, twinned somewhere between the LSD's and the steamy sessions of doubts,do's and dont's..this has got to do something with the TRP's and we all know it.A fashion mag. with just a fashion stuff..nah.Neways,I summed up all the points I could get on to,some negative, some positive and it turned out to be mostly B's that sums up to be that I am a partly jealous gf..watever that meant!I need to improve on was what the mag said.

Now this "supposedly partly jealous gf" forgot the whole thing as soon as the mag went into her drawers..No offence to them, these guys are great. But the quiz has the same effect on me,as those astrology columns in the morning paper.I read it,if its good it feels good and  that's it about it.If its bad,who the hell cares. So well life as we know it,is as hell as is heaven till now.Just a few edits here and there and it can be perfect.

Perfection is not my forte' but yes,as everyone else I would love to travel like NOMADIC MATT,would love to dress up like RIHANNA,would love to mess up like EVERY OTHER GAL IN HER LATE 20'S,would love to SWING and JUMP like ARCHANA SARDANA ,would love to be part of those HI PROF FASHION SHOOTS, would love to have the world at my feet.If at all, that was so easy.I strive to excel, but every other turn I find a better winner. When I started off with my blog "ankionthemove" with my motive to help people know India better ,and I started off writing every detail on it,I found there were few takers.SEO is something,I heard off recently. To write on more broader subject makes the content more diluted. And then there is always a financial aspect to everything, that is scary. Can I travel as long as I desire.....

If only I knew it!Well answers to certain questions are always unexplained.Matters of the heart are, matters of friendship are more.A ship is only connected to the anchor,as long as the sea has waves. No matter how strong or weak the turn of the winds are,it will sail unless we have a TITANIC,which is rare.If only I knew that my friends on Facebook or orkut are my real friends,a namesake sounds too artificial.A "happy bday" here and there doesn't make them friend either. What a friend is,and will be always someone who is there with you no matter what, which is rare too.

And since when having a profile on Facebook or the lack of it,makes a difference to degrees of friendship, now that we literally drink, eat, read and write Facebook..!I pinch myself, sometimes, rather scold myself for letting go off,my comp keys, but I am so so addicted.Kudos to them who can stay away!

A drift of friendship could possibly be for various reasons, and well, life to certain people are different with different ideologies. Not everyone is born with the same thinking,I wish that would have made things more easy.No more saas bahu cat fights, and no more "I love you ,I hate you, Let me go" syndromes. But then this is life, and someone said me once

"Few years from now,You would know what you
wanted, with who you wanted, and those who were never there ,were never worth".

One of my favourite inspirational song "Wear Sunscreen"

Lets see how my life unfolds, keeping my fingers crossed for the blog hits :)  ..
