Chariot Ride At Bangalore Palace

Salute to the royale,the wodeyars.
One look, and a new world of dreams
Open up,I wish I was there,why wasnt I?
Bangalore Palace,you're grand.
You are eternal,you are imperial.
Love you.

Nested in the hustle bustle of the city, the palace has its own charm.I adored it from a distance and I was mesmerized by its beauty inside as well.

I entered the main gate and took entry tickets which were quite costly, and they handed us the audio guides.

The audio guides are a fun way to inform you about the palace.Let me tell you how it works. The inside of the palace and several places outside, are numbered 1 to 20.When you want to know about the information of the place, all you got to do is press the keys on the audio guide with the same number and voila, they have the explanation with the history, musicals, interviews everything.Unique and organised.

Bangalore palace was built by Chamaraja Wodeyar, Maharaja of Mysore in 1887. The Palace flaunts turreted parapets, battlements, fortified towers and arches.

There was a Durbar hall and there were other places were seminars were being held. The wodeyars were fond of paintings, and the walls had beautiful paintings and captures.

They were quite fond of hunting as well, there were stools made of elephant legs, and the main entrance had the whole elephant head(real) hanging there. It looked magnificent. The audio guide helped me in understanding the lifestyle and history of the wodeyars, and then I entered a room which had the famous clothes which kings and queens used to wear. The clothes were beyond compare with what we see today.Fashion in the true sense, and modern.silk, siffons, ball gowns, saris.
